We’re proud to announce that Kimberly was chosen to paint a canvas for this year’s KHYI Cares Canvas For Kids Auction!
About Kim’s painting:
“This painting I call ‘KIMBA.’ Beside the fact that it’s my nick name, I LOVE the Disney Classic ‘The Lion King!’ I also grew up playing a game called ‘Lions’ with my sisters! We’d rawr and all that jazz… tons of fun! You should try it sometime ;)
I see myself as a lion because of what they mean to me. Loyal, Dependable, Loving, Team work; all these things make up the basics of my core values. I try to follow an dexecute these values daily.
I think everyone has a little lion in them, and it’s so fun to let it shine once in a while!
Until I meet you one day and thank you personally, for now I’ll send my WARMEST REGARDS!
Love: Kimberly Dunn”

Howdy Y’all! It’s been so busy in my camp that I’ve been neglecting my news page! I promise to do better!! Today is August 8, 2012. It’s Wednesday! ☺ I’m sitting in my living room while Johnny Cooper & his drummer JCIV take naps before their show at the Rattle Inn in Downtown ATX. Tonight he’s asked me to sing ‘Movin’ On’ with him. I LOVE singing with Johnny and I always end up learning something new about myself. Can’t wait to hit the stage!
This past weekend my band and I played in Ben Wheeler and Graford Texas. Ben Wheeler has got to be one of my favorite places to play and visit!! The venues are great, the food is spectacular, and the community gives the warmest of welcomes to visitors and musicians. I think it’s safe to say that given the chance, I’d move to Ol’ BW and build me a house. ;) It was Friday night that we strolled into town to play an acoustic set at the Forge Bistro (which, by the way, has AMAZING bacon and blue cheese chips!!). Scott, my guitar player, and I played a two and a half hour set for a very captive and responsive audience! The crowd was extremely sweet and very attentive. It’s always nice to play a really intimate show where eye contact and crowd interaction are readily available. I guess that could be a good or bad thing….depending on how I’m singing ;).
Saturday night I was with my band in Graford TX! I had never been up to Possom Kingdom Lake before but I had a blast. The folks at the Rockin’S Bar pleasantly surprised me, everyone seemed to love the set. I had great crowd participation with some cover songs that I do and some great feedback from my new single “Common as the Rain”…currently spinning on Texas radio and available for request (hint hint!!) ;)
Over all it was a really successful weekend. Thanks for stopping by, I promise to keep y’all updated more from here on out!! I better get going, I need to get ready for the show tonight with Johnny!!
Over and Out!
